About ISCA GUARD PFA
Iscaguard PFA is a multifunctional cosmetic preservative-free additive system composed primarily of phenethyl alcohol and caprylyl glycol. It is designed to provide broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection while supporting the formulation of self-preserving cosmetic and personal care products. The combination of these two ingredients offers effective activity against bacteria, yeast, and mold while maintaining a low irritation and sensitization profile. Caprylyl glycol functions as a humectant, skin-conditioning agent, and preservative booster, helping improve moisturization, emolliency, and product texture. Phenethyl alcohol contributes antimicrobial performance and imparts a mild floral fragrance to formulations. Iscaguard PFA appears as a clear, colorless liquid and is suitable for a wide variety of cosmetic applications including creams, lotions, serums, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, facial cleansers, wet wipes, lip care products, and eye care formulations. It is free from parabens, formaldehyde donors, and isothiazolinones, making it a popular choice for modern cosmetic products seeking alternative preservation systems. The preservative system is effective across a broad pH range and can be incorporated into both leave-on and rinse-off formulations.
