TINO GUARD TT About
Tinoguard TT is a highly effective oil-soluble antioxidant used in cosmetic, personal care, pharmaceutical, and other formulations to protect oils and sensitive ingredients from oxidation. It is a BASF trade name for Pentaerythrityl Tetra-di-t-butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate. It is supplied as a white to off-white solid and is particularly useful for protecting formulations containing oils, fats, fragrances, vitamins, and other oxidation-sensitive components. Tinoguard TT helps prevent oxidative degradation that can lead to rancidity, unpleasant odor, discoloration, and deterioration of product quality. It is highly effective at relatively low concentrations and provides good long-term protection during storage. The ingredient is oil-soluble and is therefore particularly suitable for anhydrous formulations and oil phases of emulsions. It can be used in creams, lotions, sunscreens, color cosmetics, lip products, oils, balms, and other formulations containing oxidation-sensitive raw materials. Tinoguard TT is also valued for its excellent thermal stability and compatibility with many cosmetic ingredients. Its primary function is antioxidant protection, rather than antimicrobial preservation.
